J. had worked as a research assistant to Muzafer and was the camp director in the Robbers Cave Study. Sherif had collaborated with Harvey as coauthor on four articles, as well as the Robbers Cave book. The connection with Sherif was undoubtedly helpful in arranging Harvey's postdoctoral fellowship at Yale and his subsequent faculty positions at Vanderbilt and Colorado Universities.
